Showtime Costumes. . .

All students will be performing in the annual Showtime performances held at the end of June – please keep these dates reserved, June Weds19th/Thurs 20th and Sunday June 23rd at the Michael J. Fox Theatre in Burnaby.  A costume is required for each show routine with the average usual cost of about $55 to $80 per costume depending on size/style/number of pieces.  Competitive costumes may run a little higher. Measurements for all students are now being done and costume invoices will be sent out in November. Costume payments are due by Dec 10th.

More information about Showtime 2019 will be given during the year in subsequent emails.

RAD Ballet Exams . . .

R.A.D. Children’s Graded Ballet Examinations (Ballet Grades 1 – Grade 5) will be held in April. Parents will be notified by email of their child’s readiness/selection for examination before the entry deadline.

In order to adequately prepare for these exams, students are strongly encouraged to attend all classes and avoid missing lessons.

Please make sure that your child has proper fitting ballet slippers, character shoes (1.5-2 cm Lower heel for Grades 1-2 and 3-3.5cm Cuban heel for Grades 3-5) and still fit their Character skirts.

We are also expecting that graded ballet students attend ballet classes with tidy hair – hair should be worn in a bun for girls, this is a necessary practice for the discipline of proper ballet training. If hair is too short for a bun, short pigtails are acceptable and headbands may be worn to keep shorter hair off the face.

Last Call for Character Skirts . . .

If you child just finished the Grade 3 or 5 exam last year, we are in need of character skirts for the new Grade 1s and Grade 4s, this is a great time to bring in your character skirts to sell. Grade 4 current ballet girls are reminded they need to replace their Grade 1-3 skirt with the Grade 4-5 skirt which has the darker pink/burgundy ribbons.

If you need a new skirt sewn, please contact/text our seamstress Andrea MacDonald at 604-379-2109.
